Posted onIn this interview with Mariposa Talks, singer songwriter Irish Mythen fills us in on her Irish roots, her musical journey and offers a hint of a surprise for her Mariposa concert.
Concert producer, conference organizer, DJ and emcee Sonny Ochs tells Mariposa Talks how she has kept alive the musical legacy of her brother, protest singer and activist Phil Ochs. In today’s charged political climate, she says, his work is gaining a new political currency with the young.
Inge Andersen has always loved poetry and music.
Inspired by Dutch poets such as Hans Andreus and Ellen Warmond, the Canadian poet Irving Layton, and songwriters like Phil Ochs, Joni Mitchell, and James Taylor, she has written many poems and songs.
She continued to write while performing regularly as a back-up singer.
After backing Eric Andersen on his 2005 tour of Japan, and in many subsequent performances around the globe, in 2006 she and Eric got married.
Performing back-up gave her a lot of stage experience, but her debut album, Fallen Angel (2011), proved the full extent of her talent.
