The Doubtfires

The Doubtfires is a professional 4 piece band based in southern Ontario. Each of the four members have decades of professional playing experience in many live and studio situations and have been playing together in some form or another for more than 35 years. We pride ourselves on offering a polished performance of quality music.

The Doubtfires have developed two shows for this year’s Mariposa festival. The first show is a celebration of the music of one of the world’s most prolific songwriters, James Taylor. The show is titled “Shower the People”. Along with the timeless music, audiences will enjoy a little story telling meant to highlight important people and moments in James Taylor’s life and to provide some context behind the writing of his iconic music. We invite you to sit, relax and enjoy the music spanning several decades which is uniquely the sound of James Taylor.

The second show is a tribute to the many great songs written over the decades specifically on the PIANO. Writing music on the piano gives the artist the unique ability to orchestrate during the writing process, thanks to the instrument’s large pitch and dynamic range as well as the ability to play many notes at the same time. Join us as we pay tribute to some of the most iconic piano-playing songwriters of our time. Some of the featured songs in this set will include those written by Billy Joel, Elton John, Carole King, Bruce Hornsby, Howard Jones, Train and others.
